Status: Pre-Planning
Take That! is an upcoming unofficial zine meant to celebrate the triumphs and defeats, the epic breakdowns and verdicts of the original Ace Attorney trilogy — Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, and Trials and Tribulations — in honor of the series’ upcoming 25th anniversary. Get ready, for a new trial is in session!
❈ This zine will feature page and spot artists, writers, as well as merch artists and writers.
❈ We are looking for approximately 20 artists, 5 writers, 3 merch artists, and 2 merch writers, not including mods and guests. This might depend on interest check results.
❈ Both physical and digital.
❈ This is a Safe for Work, gen-focused (no romantic ships) project, with no explicit content allowed.
❈ Canon typical violence and light swearing under PG-13 are permitted.
❈ This will be centered on the games’ canon content, meaning no AUs. References to the anime and light references to other games in the franchise or the official manga and casebooks are allowed at the discretion of the mod team.
❈ For charity (non-profit). All profits will be donated to a to-be-determined charity.
Depending on interest, we may also produce a special add-on mini-zine to accompany the main zine, which will feature a collection of less polished pieces inspired by courtroom sketches. Artists featured in this booklet may include contributors from the main zine or additional artists, depending on overall interest.
This is an unofficial fanzine. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Ace Attorney, Capcom, or any of their affiliates.

Lover of all things art and Phoenix Wright! When I'm not touching grass or playing the same 5 viddy games over again, I spend a lot of my free time drawing and chasing inspiration. I dream to one day illustrate the cover of a book and write my own original comic, but until that day, I'll gladly share my love for art alongside fellow fans.

What’s a fanzine?
A fanzine is an unofficial collection of fan works including fanart and fanfiction based on a preexisting work. In this case, Take That! is based on the first three games in Capcom’s Ace Attorney game franchise: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, and Trials & Tribulations. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Ace Attorney, Capcom, or any of their affiliates. What type of content will be featured in the zine?
This zine will feature a variety of works, including page and spot art, written works, comics, and merch, following the chronology of the cases in the trilogy. Can we explore moments outside of canon?
Yes, as long as they are tied-in to a case from the trilogy (e.g.: a piece about Miles Edgeworth’s year off post-AA1, in the context of Reunion and Turnabout). Is there an age limit for contributors and moderators?
Yes, all contributors and moderators must be at least 16 years old.Do you need prior zine experience to apply?
No, zine experience is not necessary and will not affect your application. What is the charity for the zine?
The charity has not been decided yet. The mod team will shortlist several charities for contributors to vote for, and the final charity will be announced during the creation period. Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes! You can apply for more than one role, but please note that you will only be selected for one of them. How will the contributors be compensated?
All contributors are, at the minimum, guaranteed a PDF copy of the zine and all digital merch. The possibility of physical compensation will be dependent on sales. As this zine is for-charity, there will be no monetary compensation for contributors. Will contributors be allowed to collaborate?
Yes, they are! Writers may choose to collaborate with spot artists on their piece(s).How many contributors are you planning on having?
We plan to accept around 30 contributors, across artists, merch artists, writers, and merch writers. The exact number and distribution of creators will depend on our interest check results and contributor applications. Will there be guest contributors?
Yes, and they will be announced before the creation period starts. Will there be pinch hitters / fill-in / backup creators?
Yes! Applicants can indicate in the application form if they would like to be a pinch hitter for the zine. Pinch hitters are creators who may be called in if there is a creator who drops out from the project during the creation period. What is the creation process like?
Upon acceptance, contributors will have to select a case to work on, and pitch several ideas to the mod team. Ideas approved by the mod team will be the ones which contributors will create. There will be regular progress check-ins each month, to ensure that contributors are on track to complete their piece(s) by the end of the creation period.I have a question that isn’t listed here.
